Stem length for bull bars?

I usually ride about a 57-58cm (c to c) TT with a stem length of about 110-120mm with drop bars on my road or track bikes. I'd like to try some bull or pursuit style bars for general use and road training on a track frame. I'm wondering what adjustment to stem length is usually comfortable and efficient with these types of bars since I'm seeing much shorter stem lengths being used with these bars.

try a 90 if your stems too long. in my experience i like about 30mm+ less stem for bullhornz.

yea go shorter to accommodate the extended reach. I went from a 100 to 80 and that worked out right. Of course your bullhorn style may vary the stem length needed as well.

why do you want bullhorns? I like them for city riding. I'm usually on the flats when I'm cruising, and only on the horns when I'm standing to accelerate. Same stem length for me.

Shorter though if you want to use aerobars or ride on the horns all the time.

you'll want more of a length change if you're changing from road drops than from track drops. also, your saddle to bar drop will affect the position; i find that i like a lower stem with bullhorns than i do with drops, since at most there's a 10cm drop on most horns (i have nitto 021 and deda akros right now), and most drops are almost twice that.

My roommate had bullhorns on his pista that were long as hell. I tried to find them but I just settled on the nashbar bullhorns, which as someone else said, felt too short. I was riding a 50cm Mark V btw.

I recommend as long as a stem you can go with bulls.

No stem. Weld the handlebars to the fork.

Best idea is to try some out before you buy them if you can. If you're threadless any shop should let you try some out.

my stem for drops is probably 20mm longer than for bullhorns.
