Hell yes I'd be down, though I can't figure out why he says 9-speed can't be used with it, as a PC-58 is 3/32" (unless I'm wrong).

Cost?

Also, wasn't someone on here trying for the same idea?

I got in a Pisgah Mountain ride Sunday on an early pre-production model of the Tomi-Cog. Gotta say it was hiccup free, and it will be well worth the money if you're looking to try off-road fixie on the cheap.

I will have my 1 year Boone cog order waiting anniversary in February ..

I drilled one out myself.. but its definitely off center. I would readily dish out some money for a 6bolt disc cog that doesn't have me waiting a more than two weeks



if my Boone cog ever does come... I will immediately take it over the Paul comp and ask if he'd be nice enough to make me extras (backups.. if you will)

I canceled my order for a Boone Ti cog and ordered a Tomicog. I emailed Boone, and after having ordered it 9 months ago, they still don't have a time frame on when it will be done. Definitely not worth the wait.

Ok i just received mine in the mail today and then I went out and picked up some bolts for disc rotors. one thing that has me puzzled is that the bolts are considerably smaller than the holes in the cog. Is there a second type of disc brake bolt that has a larger flange near the bolt head that would work better and fit tighter than the ones I have?

I got my Tomicog a week ago and scrounged up a mix of old stem bolts and bottle cage bolts, which worked just fine.

Have a new cog from Tomi. They are really nicely made.
The holes "stretched" one the one I made. I think I overheated the cheap steel when I drilled it. By the way, 38x18 is too big for the steep singletrack around here.
Anyone have a 5 bolt 110BCD silver 34 or 36 they want rid of?

LóFarkas drilled his own cog. Apparently, he needed some industrial machinery to drill through the Shimano BMX cog, but he eventually got it done.

Ya once I bolted mine up it seems fine so far but i haven't ridden it yet but the individual bolts were not super tight on the bolt holes

No chainline issues, lines right up and does what it is supposed to do.

I've got my Tomicog bolted onto a Surly front disk hub, which has been respaced to work as a rear wheel. Sorta like this...

With the wheel dished symmetrically, I get about a 46 mm chainline. That works for me since my crank chainline is 45.5 mm. A true rear disk hub will give you a wider chainline than that. But there is really no reason you can't get the proper chainline, given the multple ways you can adjust it. (1) you can redish the wheel and adjust axle spacers, (2) move your bolt-on disk cog towards the dropout with some washers, (3) move the chainring with chainring spacers, (4) or change the BB spindle. You can usually cure a severely f'ed up chainline by adjusting the first three things without having to buy a new bottom bracket.

what type of phil hub is that, a rear mtb single speed disc hub? anyone know if a front mtb disc hub can be respaced with rear axles?

wow, looks great, i have a single sided track rear that I would like to replace with a tomicog (which I have) with a front mtb disc hub re-axled to work in the rear. If now ill go with rear mtb SS hub, but I have 120 rear spacing, what is your rear spacing? MTB standard?

Tandem crank. They are pretty cheap on eBay. Makes the bike just a little different.
