Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Dumb Question??? (what is bcd?)

Hey guys,

I just wanted to know what the main differences are between expensive track cranks like the Sugino 75 and Grand Mighty, vs the sugino RD cranks. I don't care too much about the NJS stuff, i just want something that is gonna last me long and is gonna ride well. The only difference that i found was in the bcd....what is it?

Thanks

Bolt circle diameter.

"Track" is normally 144. Road and many of the SS cranks you'll see out there these days is typically 130.

Kinda like OCD, but for bikers. It usually manifests itself with the need to organize you ever growing fleet of bikes by year, or color. It soon moves to the final stage where everything bike related must be in its special place in order for you to go out on a ride. Many BCD afflicted riders have reported strange rituals like throwing your leg over the bike three time before starting out. It's really a misunderstood illness.
