I had a B-17 and it just didn't work for me at all. Nowadays I just go the poor guy route and buy pulloff WTB saddles and it works well enough.

This is a laced Pro. It stays nice and stiff and keeps my sit bones right where they're supposed to be, on the back of the saddle. I laced a b17 too, with similarly good results. Long rides still make me hurt, but not in the ass area.

I haven't got any close ups of the saddles but all my fixed bikes have Brooks saddles, actually so have the other two :) My Bikes set on Flickr
I Audax on fixed so comfort is paramount, of Team Proffessional/B-17s and Titanium Swift, the Ti-Swift is the most comfortable

I hadn't looked in a while, but damn has the price of brooks saddles shot up. I got my ti pro for $210, it's $350 now. The B-17 was about $50 only a year ago, now wall bike has them for $82.

i got a new b-17 for $40 from the head of the NCAA - true story.

Anyone try those softened/already-broken-in brooks? I'm trying to put together a bike for my brother's graduation and I'm thinking of putting one of those on it, those or a concor/turbo- any suggestions or input-

My brooks feels fine after a few weeks, but that's relative to riding a 5Gold. I guess my ass just got used to the punishment.
