Weird "drop bars

I can't find a picture, and I'm trying to figure out what they're called. They look like drops, except the drop keeps going and each side almost connects with each other at the bottom.

I really can't think of any other way to describe them.

i know what you're talking about, but i don't know the brand or type. i do think they're touring bars though.

Butterfly bars? It's difficult to tell from your description. Either that or Drop-Ins.

can someone explain the purpose of these/why they are the "best bars ever"? it seems like the extended part of the scott bars would have you in too upright of a position for racing.

the low aero position is nice, but the reason i love mine is that there's a great hand position at what would normally be the end of the drop section. it just feels really nice to my hands.

yes. the bars in the schnee's post are the same bars that Armstong used. i think Lemond used them in the tdf, too.

yeah... I've always heard them referred to as Lemond Drop-Ins or Lemond Roubaix bars.

and a pic of Lemond's 1990 TVT w/ the scott bars, just for kicks
