This sub forum...

So out of boredom, i spent ten minutes or so at the tandem forum, then came back here.
Comparitively, it feels like a warm, peaceful, happy library in there.

This is all.

Placid Casual 02-01-08 03:44 PM

They ride tandems, sp00ki. They're stuck with each other. They have to get along.

NitroPye 02-01-08 03:45 PM

I dare you to go to the recumbent forum.

sp00ki 02-01-08 03:48 PM

i'm so there.

ryanday 02-01-08 03:57 PM

I went to the road forum once.

I have never dared go back... what a bunch of hateful, ignorant yuppies. Their attitudes towards women and the general feeling of insatiable materialism appalled me.

BRANDUNE 02-01-08 04:00 PM

WTF? I just posted here and it disappeared

barba 02-01-08 04:00 PM

Try C&V. Generally very nice folks with a ton of knowledge.

dmotoguy 02-01-08 04:02 PM

anyone ever been in the bmx forum?

Not since I hit puberty.

BRANDUNE 02-01-08 04:05 PM

The BMX forum is definately an interesting one

I don't see any deleted posts?

fast_track 02-01-08 04:20 PM

I was hoping of starting a new forum for FG/Electric Bike conversions, this way the cranks can take your feet for a ride.... anyone interested?

ryansexton 02-01-08 04:48 PM

The people in Touring are really nice for the most part.

darksiderising 02-01-08 04:53 PM

So what does this tell us about the fgss scene compared to others?

ryansexton 02-01-08 04:56 PM

It is funny and the b9board of bikes.

Irony.

doughboy 02-01-08 05:01 PM

I jump around from the Road forum to MTB to SSFG. They all have their own personalities and cliches. I think it'd be horrible to classify any one riding style/terrain as being the best. That would make this sport boring. Actually, for SSFG, is it a sport or a hobby for some?

Hobbie for most. But then also most road ad mtb riders do it as a hobby, not a sport.

Your misuse of the word is ironic.

It's not really misuse of the word.

ryansexton 02-01-08 05:10 PM

I consider bike riding a sport. There is no win or lose, but it is still a sport. If I practice hockey by myself in my backyard, is that sport or is it hobby? I say the former.

Igneous Faction 02-01-08 05:19 PM

The B9board of bikeforums?

MOAR LYKE /B/ikeforums

This place has gotten seriously stupid. And I love stupidity. But the ol' time people who could provide a wealth of interesting and useful knowledge and have been replaced by idiot teenagers accusing me of being a hipster.

kergin 02-01-08 05:25 PM

The clyde/athena sub is both inspiring and depressing. Discuss.

Shut up, you stupid hipster. Your bike is not a fashion accessory.

shasta 02-01-08 05:34 PM

This section is nuts because the average age of the fixed gear rider is probably lower than that of the average tourer/tandem rider/etc. It has nothing to do with the type of bikes we ride, its just that young men get in fights.

Igneous Faction 02-01-08 05:36 PM

Hence why we're collectively smarter than the BMX forums, yet WAY dumber than C and V and framebuilding.

frankstoneline 02-01-08 05:43 PM

I really like it here. Its blatantly obvious who knows or cares little about riding fixed gear bikes beyond the coolness aspect. Makes it real easy to disregard what most people here say and find the helpful bits.

mander 02-01-08 06:29 PM

There are lots of cool (and hardcore) people in the long distance forum.

wroomwroomoops 02-01-08 06:41 PM

I used to post in the tandem subforum. Then I realized it's almost as deserted as the winter cycling subforum. Friendly? Sure. But boring.

I like it here. There's a good deal of ******bags, but also a great deal of cool folks that I would feel happy to hand around in real life as well. And I like the whole dynamic of SSFG.
