Horizontal dropouts
Standard bottom bracket (English thread, Japanese cups)
Standard seatpost diameter (or better, an existing seatpost). Just make certain it is long enough or that your frame is big enough. Old seatposts not so long.
Limited braze-ons. Just looks cooler without a lonely FD clamp that has nothing on it. Water bottle good, support for fully-loaded touring - wrong forum...

I've got a Italvega from the early 70's. Really nice Columbus steel frame. Chromed lugs and Campy dropouts no braze ons. If you see one of these, grab it.
