Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: Converted 1997 Trek Singletrack 930 singlespeed and a Kona Lavadome singlespeed, fixed Dahon folding bike, fixed 27" Miyata road bike, early 70's Raleigh Chopper

It's been a while since I've been here too. I think before I left, everyone was leaving to join their own newly created, city-specific FG forums, like absntr, 165, one twenty eight, etc.

I can't believe I'm still riding the same bike I had back then too.

I am undecided as to the effect of city focused forums. The nation wide aspect of this forum seemed to be a binding and building effort that I really enjoyed. Suddenly the isolation or what is seemed to be "like minded people" focus seems a poor idea. Divided efforts seem bad..

I miss Ceya and msngr, but it's probably for the best that everyone parted ways and got on with life.
