Alien Frames delayed

just thought I would share an e-mail I just got from Joseph in regards to the Alien Frameset that was hoped to be ready this month.

"Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry to report there was a problem with the frames, so there is now a significant delay. The frames will now not be available until May. I hope everyone can be patient, and doesn't lose all interest, but I want to make sure these frames are the way they are supposed to be. Detailed geometry info is now available on the website.
Thanks for understanding,
Joseph The Alien"

Not a good thing for him for sure. I'm not sure how much actual interest there is but this certainly wont help, especially with the new Kilo on it's way. However, geometry finally may help, I was certainly skeptical of a frame without specs and such a corny marketing description.

website has the frame listed as 349 now, 50 bucks off and an extra 2 month wait. seems like a hipster company, with a slogan like "welcome to the ghettodrome" they also make "nice sneaker pedals" as said on their site.

That has to be the worst slogan ever. Who actually wants to live in the ghetto? Clearly people who have never been there.......

$400 for a frame of this calibre is far too much. What made you guys order it? The look of it? I am just curious, not trolling...

What lugged frame is cheaper than $350? You can't even get used frames for that thanks to ebay morons. I guess you guys have your mythical $150 lugged 853 bikesdirect groupbuy, good luck on that.

It's not a Bareknuckle but it costs $300 less.

I've been thinking about getting a lugged frame and every once in a while alien pops into my head. then I laugh and laugh and start looking for real frames.

It's just funny, all these cheap bikes are made by the same guys in Taiwan and yet some are mysteriously better than others. Nobody's even seen one of these yet it's obviously a piece of **** because it had a dumb name, instead of a dumb name stolen from a defunct french company.

1+

I really don't understand the love Kilo TT gets on this forum. It's about the cheapest frame available for sure but how that makes it somehow so good ? Someone tell me, please.

IMHO Alien frameset at least looks miles better that Kilo or any of those Bikes Island frames.

I know that there are probably about 5 companies that make about 95% of the bikes on the planet, but I think that lugs are not necessary anymore. They are just a fashion statement now, aren't they? I think that many people ordered them based on the wrong criteria, that is all.

Wait wait wait wait. If none of them are mysteriously better than others, then why are you buying a $350 frame instead of a $350 complete?

Bikes: EAI Bare Knuckle, 1980's Ross Signature 292s 12 speed

Kilo TT's get love because they are cheap, have nice track geometry and are fairly durable.
