Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Might this be worth it?

A guy on craigslist wants $50 for this Raleigh Reliant frame and the parts upon it.

Is it worth it for a first time fixed build?

If nothing is seized on it, i'd say it's ok.

+1 on things being seized. i imagine you'd be picking it up. try and pull the stem when you get there.

That offer sounds like a good plan. It's been on the 'list for a while now.

I just checked, and the ad specifies a 56 cm top tube and 58 cm seat tube, both of which are nearly identical to my dad's old Trek that I'm currently riding.
