Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

It was my birthday last Saturday and since all my relatives know i'm a poor college kid, i've got like 170 bucks in the mail in the last week. Shame I've blown it all on pot and beer already, but at least i'm not draining my already strained bank account.

a signed copy of "James and the Giant Peach" My mom corresponded with Roald Dahl, mailed him the book and money to mail it back. It was the best birthday present ever. Only time I cried due to a present. 20 plus years later, it is still one of my favorite memories.

The best material: The big red thing in the middle of the picture.

The best overall: A poem my dad wrote for me when I was 10.
