"Police say there investigation has revealed the woman was not at fault in the accident, and probably wouldn't be facing charges if she hadn't fled the scene. "

Two posssibilities here:

1 She was drunk.
2 She's a complete moron.

Either way, she really has no business being on the road. She should never drive again.

I hope they nail her to the wall for leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Dude it's the news. Whaddya expect

rickyaustin 02-17-08 10:56 AM

As far as the article goes - the accident was the biker's fault.

The only knock on the lady is that she fled. If she had stayed she would not have a chance of going to jail. Hit & run is a big deal, so she'll see some jail time.

I doubt that she'll lose her license forever, or spend a long time in jail.

thelung 02-17-08 11:02 AM

The second someone gets behind the wheel of a car any human or animal death that results is completely their fault. **** cars.

I don't know about that. How do you know this guy wasn't drunk out his mind, listening to a walkman and ran a red light right in the car's path? Cars suck in a larger, more holistic way, and there are way more bad drivers than good ones... but cyclists have to take responsibility for their actions too.

When is it not the bikers fault? ****ing hippies shouldn't be riding their damned bicycles on the road.

zelah 02-17-08 11:18 AM

the second you pilot a several ton vehicle you better be god damn sure you can handle everything it's capable of. a cyclist hitting a cyclist rarely results in death, a cyclist with a trailer striking a cyclist rarely results in death.

**** cars

no, people who drive are responsible for vast amounts of unquestioned violence and should be held accountable

syn0n 02-17-08 11:32 AM

I'm sorry, but if you go leap out in front of a car and get FUBAR, that's your problem, not the drivers'. If the driver is driving like a ****ing ******* and runs you down, it's their problem. See how that works?

thelung 02-17-08 11:33 AM

you dont understand but i dont care

syn0n 02-17-08 11:39 AM

You're right I don't understand. Why should someone else be to blame for your irresponsible actions?

zelah 02-17-08 11:40 AM

driving is an irresponsible action ****tard

syn0n 02-17-08 11:44 AM

Feel free to go test your little theory anytime, tehz. Run some red lights. I'm thinking the judge is gonna tell you the same thing while you're in your body cast.

right because the legal system actually works.

should i link half a dozen articles of drivers being at fault for cyclist deaths and getting off completely or with minor moving violations? or do you want to take a look yourself

syn0n 02-17-08 11:53 AM

I already know that **** happens. And it's ****ed up. That does not, however, give you the right to ride like a ****ing idiot with impunity. If you cause the crash, you're at fault. If they cause the crash, they're at fault, and should be held liable.

NitroPye 02-17-08 11:59 AM

^ Grandpa, what are you doing on a bike forum???

I'll plaid guilty to that one.

metaljim 02-17-08 12:21 PM

lung, you're a complete idiot. stop trolling.

carbonjockey 02-17-08 01:22 PM

its good that we all know every angle of this story and have all the facts straight: oh wait, we don't. so until we do why dont we stop playing the blame game. I agree that cars tend to be at fault in the majority of cases i have heard, but thats not necessarily true for this case.

Hahahahaahaaaahhaaaaaaaaaa...

You are funny, sir.

I have a car. I like my car.

I have bikes. I like my bikes.

I once had a day where I drove my Honda CR-V down the highway that used to be forests (like everything. You know, before you started breathing) and I had lunch at a Taco Bell. I then went to the Marine Corps Recruiting Center and looked into my options. Then I went back to my apartment, next to some high tension powerlines. (I didn't eat any beef though, I had just eaten Taco Bell.) There were many "illegal immigrants" (can we say *******?) along the way and I didn't hit any of them with my car.

You are not better than me.
