DA Chrome cog/lock ring
#26
I could care less if they are 5 times the quality. I never ****ing asked about Phil cogs. Is your name Phil ****ing Wood?
They are double the price like all Phil products and in this case its just stupid. I have a DA cog on my hub now thats been on there for over a year and it shows zero wear after at least 3thousand miles. Thats good enough for me.
Would you now like to recommend other products that i also didnt ask about and argue about those too?

The progression was like this:
1. You asked about chrome DA cogs
2. I asked if it was *only* chrome DA cogs or just silver-tone cogs in general you were looking for, and suggested Phil Wood as an option IF THE LATTER WERE THE CASE
3. You started in on your **** about America blah blah blah parts blah blah blah contradict yourself blah blah blah
4. We find ourselves here
As for other products you didn't ask about that we can argue about, I've got a nice frame pump I'd suggest for insertion in a certain orifice.

1) He asks for DA cog in chrome
2) You answer a question that was not asked
3) He tells you he why he wants DA stuff
4) You tell him hes wrong
5) He responds in the way anyone one would
6) You want to touch him with your frame pump?
you fail, Deathhare wins. Please, now sit down.

yall need quit being dumbasses. if you want a shiny ass cog go EAI or Phil and quit *****ing. its not like custom DA is going to be any cheaper, and its not like EAI or Phil are low quality

Like he said he wants all Japanese parts (or at least non american parts) for whatever reason. I agree Phil cogs are too expensive. In Japan they are 3-4 times the price of Dura Ace NJS cogs. (maybe double in the states)....and the hubs are ugly (but I am sure they are good). We all have our own tastes in products. Get over it guys. He does not want the Phil cog.

just get the dura ace cog from japan ...i thought you could
only get them through tomity, but if they have them at cycle
land go for it.
ps. i was under the impression that the da cogs (like phil)
were not chrome-plated, but polished...
…on tomity's site it states that the cogs are polished.
and in one thread brent at pw stated the phil cogs are polished,
not plated.

I have little energy to baby sit this morning or type that much.
The 'custom' DA cogs are in fact dramtically cheaper. More than half the cost of Phil.

... really?
your serious?
hold on a second here...
what was your original response to his question?
now again.... my reading skills are bad? I may have paraphrased a bit, but you missed the whole point of the thread, and therefore failed with a capital F

Actually yeah, your reading skills aren't the best. I didn't miss the point of the thread at all. I offered a reasonable alternative based on a contingency. He could have just said no, that's not what I'm looking for. Instead, he pulled his standard jackass routine and that led us here.
Again, learn to read.

Just an idea...why not take a DA cog to a chrome plater? That's how they would have done the after market ones in japan. A plater will charge you the minimum because it's so small, which will probably be about $50. That makes for an expensive cog, but if you brought 3 or 4 of them, the cost for plating the lot would not go up much, if any. Then you've got some backups, or some to sell, or some to just hang out with and grab a slice at pizza hut.
But to answer your question, I don't know where to get a chrome DA cog or lock ring stateside.
