Bianchi Pista Concept

Hey all, im looking into getting a fixey to start riding for fun...no velodrome!

Anyways, Ive been looking at some different cheaper bikes...Raleigh Rush hour, IRO, pista, steam roller, etc

I recently, however, found a 2005 pista concept that im going to check out for a little under $600
I was like wow, thats awsome, a 1400 dollar bike for 600...
Yet, ive recently been reading that the concept isnt a good bike to take outside of the track, because of the aluminum frame?

Please help this lost soul get a bike

Yay or nay on the concept?
Why?
Thanks a lot

Well the 1400 dollar concept is the one thats fully built up. Not just the frame and fork. Aluminum is a good material and it isnt too bad on the streets its just really twitchy and you will feel everything.

awsome
So its a fun and suitable bike to ride for the streets?

If I had not found that, I would have probably went with an IRO or steamroller
So the concept is > than those 2 ;P

It wont stay that low for long.

And if you aren't... Give it to me. That is if its a 57cm...

Damn..jealous.

I'd say go for it, if you don't like it you can easily trade it for something else.

A lot of people here who know people, have ties, and have been in the game for a long time are having a hard time getting Pisata Concepts from what I hear... I doubt that complete on ebay will stay that way for long.

Does anyone else feel like that concept on ebay is just screaming out for some nice track drops instead of those insane bullhorns?

I can't find one to save my soul. And I know my fair share of people/connections. I guess you just have to be in the right place at the right time.

And yes those bulls need replaced for drops.

Go to your local velodrome if you want one. Most racers view bikes as tools, not objects of desire. I'm sure you can find one for under 800.

600 is a good deal.

I love my IRO. Simple and to the point. Great bang for your buck.
There are others in that price range, just search a few threads about the same subject.

Good advice, although you won't see me on a Pista Concept anytime soon. Very few velodromes near me and I don't like riding a bike I don't have a need for if you know what I mean. Now if someone wants to point me to a velodrome in the Boston, Rhode Island area I may have a reason for a bike with track geometry

Bikes: Check the sig to find out

it won't be too bad for streets since it has a carbon fork because you won't feel all that road shock. make sure any damage is brought to your attention.
Generally the bad thing about aluminum is they don't last as long as a steel frame. The good about them is they are great for racing with and transfer alot of your power in a sprint since it's so stiff.
