Gimme naan.

NitroPye 02-26-08 08:08 PM

That naan looks good.

I just got back from the store with: Nice nice olive oil, baguette, camenbert soft cheese, cherry tomatoes, garlic, beer.

Why would I ever need anything more? I have everything I need in this freaking messenger bag.

I eat a lot of spaghetti, PB&J on wheat bread, and toast in the morning with my eggs. I basically live off carbs and a bit of protein.

I've been trying with little success to make my own bread recently. I can't make it fluffy enough.

Thank god for no low carb people in here! Bread and pasta are amazing.

TimArchy 02-26-08 09:32 PM

They don't really do bread over here in Asia. It was actually something that I talked about with the Head of School when I did my phone interview for the job. He assured me that there were a few small bakeries in town.

I won't say that this was the only reason I agreed to take the job, but...

NitroPye 02-27-08 12:23 AM

Ya, this has been the best thread. I ate bread tonight. It rocked. Party because I was so hungry for it after reading this thread, partly because bread is awesome.

in valhalla they play with guns and swords and ride track bikes and eat panini and drink stout all day long

I used to hate wheat bread, but started eating a lot of it for the protein for the bit of time I was a vegetarian. I still don't eat much meat, and I love some good whole wheat bread.

Still have to have my grilled cheese on white bread though.

NitroPye 02-27-08 05:31 PM

A roommate a whiles back used to make like 10 PB&J sandwiches then do a line of coke before he went out to start the morning.

mediccody 02-27-08 05:34 PM

Does he have one nostril now?

Do you think hydrogenated oils in non-organic pb contribute to colon cancer?

A favorite of mine that hasn't been mentioned yet is Danish Rye. It's nothing like what Americans call Rye bread because it's moist and super dense. Oh ****, does crisp bread count? I want some Wasa right now!

P.S. Naan is also incredibly scrumptious.

asherlighn 02-27-08 06:18 PM

I made some rosemary lentil bread earlier. It is not great with peanut butter, but it rocks with tapenade.

I should be studying, but baking and the internets are too much fun.
