Quick question: motocross hbars == riser bars ?

It seems some shops mean riser bars by "motocross handlebars", but I am not sure. I want to buy some cheap but good looking grips, but there is a warning that they "only work on motocross handlebars", so I thought I'd ask before committing.

Bikes: soma rush, giro

oury also has different grips for motocross and watercraft,
but i saw several sources that had motocross bars marked
as 7/8" grip diameter, which is super close to 22mm. so...
i guess i can't say for sure. there is aways a chance that some
motocross bars have a different grip diameter.

I bet those would work since they are on a bike-site, but O'Neal does make lots of motorcycle stuff....and that disclaimer is kinda unnerving, eh?

I don't have an offroad motorcycle anymore or I'd go measure it for you, but if I recall, it was pretty close to mtb bar diameter at the grips as travsi says. Maybe you should search out some motorcycle bar specs?

Bikes: Hummer H2

any reason you don't just go with bmx grips?
they'll definitely work on risers, and you have quite a bit of selection.

Be careful because motorcycle grips tend to be 7/8ths for the clutch side and bigger for the throttle side as the throttle slides onto the 7/8 bar and is clamped in place.

On a side not I just put oury's on my Vespa and they feel great!

with some bars oury's can have a maddening tendency to "twist slip", and usually at the worst possible time.
I don't own bicycles with grips OTHER than oury's, so I now use a rubber cement type spray adhesive, and let em dry overnight before riding.

GREAT grips, but I think they make them slightly oversize so they'll stretch on fat bars (or on the throttle side of a motorcycle)

Mine fit snuggly and dont slip much if at all. Oury mtb grips and used Wald risers. Used water to put them on, and let dry over a day or so. Also used the same method on revenge grips (BMX) and nasbar (DH MTB) risers, little slippage at first, but I didnt let it dry long enough.

Thanks a lot, guys, I <3 you! All three of you added an important piece to the puzzle - I now feel comfortable buying those grips.

I like the fact that they are cheap, and that they are sold by JensonUSA.com, one of the few online sellers that won't **** me with shipping charges.
