everytime i watch mash i want to go riding. i think that's the point. the tricks are kind of goofy but to me they almost seem included as an afterthought, something the riders did while they were taking a break from bombing crazy hills. people love that **** so why not throw it in? but i definitely wouldn't classify mash as a freestyle fixed gear video.
and i would say the filming in that video is more impressive than the riding. swerving through those tiny gaps on a scooter? bombing those hills on a skateboard? crazy.

I've never seen MASH, but I can understand why dude feels that way. If I was into some super-tiny subculture one day, then the next day I woke up and every 19 year old girl with her gut hanging over her PBR belt buckle had co-opted what I felt was mine, I'd be super bummed out.

+1.. Doesn't every subculture feel the same way when it's been outed? Subculture needs time and isolation to percolate, and in today's world that's actually really hard to do now. It's not like old Manchester scenes, or those banks in NYC... very little locals only stuff anymore. MASH being a splinter group of a subculture that went on a self promotion bender.

I enjoyed MASH alot.. there is a lot more riding than tricks really... its nothing like the video "Bootleg Sessions" where it's pretty much all tricks. I liked the editing and the music used.. yeah it made me go want to go riding.. like a typical skate video would make people want to go out skating...

Maybe they should have "POURED THEIR WHOLE SOULS" into a worthwhile cause say..

If the creators were so thin skinned as to REALLY G-A-F as to what ppl thought of their project, then they got into the wrong project. If, as an artist, you get all cranked b/c someone ****s on it with their opinion, you're in the wrong field. How do they feel ? I'll wager they laugh, clink glasses and say F**K Yea!!! Opinions... everyone's got one, but they ain't all pretty. Give your boys a bit more credit.

i know this thread has already hit the blackhole effect, but i think it's fair to point out that the issue here isn't riding hard or dangerously, but rather the fact that these guys have achieved mini-celebrity status simply because they ride the way everyone else does.
the issue isn't that they're "balsy", but that they're jocked because of a poorly made vid of nothing but friends going for a bikeride.
