Hey Tom

You always seem to be a very reasonable man..I didn't realise you are a moderator. Can I appeal to you to look carefully at the main discussion that was in the Road Forum and you will see that nothing abusive or spamming etc was said...just legitimate questioning and opinions on a serious issue and the reputation of an individual is at stake.

Well thats cool that most of the mods agree with the avewrage user. Is there anyone at all who thinks this kind of deleting and covering up is good? Also, some damage has been done to mozzy's reputation. There needs to be the documentation of it. It can't be undone with a delete.

Dude, I'm still enjoying it. Every minute of the aftermath.

By the way, I wonder if the thread Siu Blue Wind deleted can still be resuscitated. You know, databases, rollbacks and stuff. I really don't care about Tommasini frames anymore (though those Gorilla Tommasini are pretty nice, I must say), but for the sake of fairness. How would you feel if you were publicly lied about, and then taken your chance to refute those accusations? It would be rather crappy, methinks.

no matter what happens, we all know that RideTomassini isn't on the up and up, and the Gorilla bikes guy (blanking on his name at the moment) is open to debate.

what does that say about the respective parties?

and i'm not too happy about the shifty mods either. i'd like to buy a little red star, but this crap doesn't look too good. maybe i'll save my money.

It hasn't been deleted.
Usually when these things happen threads get moved to a Moderator/Admin only area that us regular users can't access.
The thread in question could possibly be restored in the future if the Mods so desire (with or without some cleansing). This was often the case back in the bad ol' days (ahem.. *Koffee* ahem....)

I think you can view the deleted posts just by playing with the urls, if you look at the link the # sign you'll see something like:

https://bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p...3&postcount=50

Well, for those you have not done any web programming, the name/value pairs are parameters passed to the .php, so the last number is obviously the post number and the first is the generated post. If you scroll around up this thread you will see the number jumps a good amount, that is probably because the p= number is global throughout the site. But you can just change it to see what was probably said and deleted. Like so:

https://www.bikeforums.net/6316185-post.html
https://www.bikeforums.net/6316187-post.html
https://www.bikeforums.net/6316196-post.html

Yeah, I'll look, and so will Brian, I'm sure. We're all discussing the best course of action right now. As of now, all the threads are being closed down and linked to a central discussion thread. Tommasini issue discussion can go on there, but needs to be kept on the cool side, folks. No raging, OK?

https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycling/396203-tommasini.html

Yeah, you can tell by the blue star. I'm on the Mod Staff. or maybe , it just depends on how hot the mod queue is at the time.

Just to be clear about one thought, we (admins, mods etc.) try to remain
neutral in topics like this. I think you'll see that we tend to stay out of the fray.
As to who is right, RideTommasini or Thomas is not for us to decide. Let Thomas and
RideTommasini work it out.
and yes, in the bad old days threads, posts and members dissappeared, that thankfully
doesn't happen anymore. A thread (or 3) might get moved to admin area to prune, merge etc.
but unless it's totally out of bounds they get restored.
and for what it's worth, one of my favourite bikes is a tommasini super prestige ca. 1983 (ish).
