Talk about your Bigwheel!!!
1 Attachment(s)
That's right... Most of us had a Bigwheel, our first FG bike. Mine was a CHiPs Bigwheel, what was yours?
|
Never had my own. Just tore it up on the ones at daycare.

oh man, i remember mine. i had a red one first. when i realized you could skid with it, it was all over. pedal super fast to make the front wheel spin, take off, charge down the block, lock your legs, and try to whip it around. ALL DAY LONG.
second one was all black, and lasted maybe a month before the front wheel had holes in it from skidding. no more after that. dad wasn't about to burn more money like that. |

I remember when bigwheels came out. I was pissed because I was just too old to ride one. I used to have a tricycle, though. It was slow and heavy.
Now, here's something. The first bike I ever successfully rode had a fixed gear. It was this old rusted cheap child's bike that belonged to some kid across the street from my babysitters. It was laying around outside, and I just got on it and rode it one day. I was six. But I specifically remember that the pedals turned when the bike rolled and it couldn't coast. I don't remember if it had brakes. The following Christmas I got a lime-green Schwinn stingray. |

Mine had Big Bird from Sesame Street on it, kinda week compared to Transformers I guess.

They weren't invented yet when I was a kid.....

Green Machine FTMFW!!!!!!1!!!juan!!!
|
I loved my Big Wheel™ (not allowed to be sold on ebay.com) it taught me spin, but the Green Machine kicked it ass all up one sidewalk and down the other. get it going, and crank the levers hard and skid wicked donuts!!!
LOVE the Green Machine, hence the name for my fixed gear |
I had a KITT. It was awesome.

I just saw a commercial bout grown people downhill racing big wheels. Its something to be done in the future with some friends, and lots of beers. and some sorts of barriers? maybe.
|
^^^lol. My cousin tied a rope to my big wheel, attached it to his seatpost and dragged me around town (South Central.) I used to slide way out like a water skier around fast turns.
Wore holes in the plastic wheels :( |

I used to do barspins on mine...

I thought this thread was about 29ers. edit: I just remembered that my kindergarten had these big wheels except they were made totally out of metal, except for the tires. They had a pretty low center of gravity but we could sometimes get them to tip over by taking corners too fast. Those things were pretty dangerous.
