basically someone said look at this frame on ebay and the tommasini dealer in the u.s. said "THATS AS FAKE AS (boob joke)" and the dude selling them said "NO WAY JOSE IM LEGIT" and a verbal fight ensued. Siu Blue Wind did some questionable modding and deletions (just ask dhare) and civil disobedience was carried out by posting tons of threads about tommasini and mentioning either the word "tommasini" or some variation (i heard he rides a tommasini, thomas masini won the alleycat etc.)

Yes and again, Tina made some bold remarks and then said she was leaving, then said "nuh uh" to someone, then said she was leaving, then said "but tommasini USA..." and then left, and then said "call the factory" and that pretty much repeated until it was too hot. Then she said I quit... until today.

I emailed Tommasini in italy just to let them know how their family (distributor) in the U.S. has represented their brand.

I realize that it was questionable modding... Im just curious as to why they felt the need to lock the tommasini threads? The first couple were legit. One of them was even stickied LOL. But the others... I mean, I can see that I guess... but whatever it was just pointless banter.

Who cares?

some swiss dude on ebay sells fake tomassini frames for about half of what a real tommasini frame costs. you can tell they're fake because tomassini doesn't even make track frames. tomassini posts here warning people about them, but because the BFFSG all-stars wanted to buy a cheap tommasini track bike, or at least, a cheap bike with bunch of tomassini stickers on it, they pick the side of the ebay seller, who has since posted some convoluted story about buying some frames years ago and how that allows him to sell frames under the name. the tommasini people, unable to cope with this level of idiocy, completely melt down, and random mods start locking things.

finally all the threads get deleted, so tomassini posts another warning thread in that other subforum, where everyone just decides to tell them to go **** off because honestly that don't want that crap in there.

Maybe you missed the post where the frames were made at the Tommasini factory in Italy.

Uh, git yer fax str8. Tina never denied where Thomas claimed the frames came from. And they indeed do make track frames. If you follow the link in post 1, Tina links you to them from post 1 in that thread.

The long thread in the Road Cyclist forum was first locked, then deleted (or hidden, whatever) then thoroughly sainitized. But before it was sanitized it was extremely telling: RideTommasini was avoiding, using every possible trick in the bag of conversation and logical fallacies, to answer the question "Have those frames (Gorilla Tommasini) been manufactured by Tommasini Italia YES or NO?

For whatever reason, the posts that asked this question very clearly, were "sanitized away".

The party that was attacked by these allegations was alerted by one of the mods, and so the guy replied that the frames are genuine - they were manufactured by Tommasini in Italy, and he has copies of all receipts that he can provide.

Then as I said, the thread was locked (on request of the person who started the allegations!) and everybody who linked to that thread, had their posts DELETED. And some received infraction points (I am one). For what? For linking to a locked thread. These deletions and thread lock (and then removal) were carried out by Siu Blue Wind. This mod then proceeded to delete ANY post (whether related or NOT to the Tommasini debacle). It was quite funny because Deathhare and I were trying to communicate and all we had were our posts that would exist for about 1 to 2 minutes and then disappear.

How fscking pathetic.

Anyway, as you can see, I am NOT linking to that locked thread - so I'm being a nice boy, according to the newspeak rules. You gotta conform, dude, gotta conform.

Bikes: 2009 Surly Steamroller, 19?? Fuji ?, 19?? Univega Viva Sport, Marin/Xtracycle combo

so what ever happened with the mods last night? they said they were "working it out." are we getting the threads back? are we getting the threads back in a sanitized version? are we still not allowed to discuss these frames without fear of SBW punishing us?

i'm over the debate, and i'm not feeling like stoking the fire anymore, i'm just curious about what happened "behind the scenes."
