Cheap gloves fall apart. I have had great success with pearl gelvent gloves.

I liked my older Pearl Izumi gloves, but the last pair I had fell apart quickly. I heard that Shimano bought PI as their house brand. I wonder if quality will pick back up.

I've tried lots gloves and none of them last very long for me. The expensive ones fall apart just as fast as the cheap ones. Now I just buy whatever's cheapest, usually the Nashbar or Performance crochet kind...I get a decent amount of mileage out of those.

I've had PI fall apart on me twice. The Trek house brand ones last scary long. The crocheted ones from a million different brands are usually good, most of the nice ones come from Pakistan.

Pro Tip: Old, stretched out gloves over lightweight full finger liners are just about perfection for spring and fall weather

great suggestions guys. question though, do the crochet ones chaff your fingers after awhile? Natural fibers seem to me that being more course, if they shift at all during the ride they'll eventually chaff.

Nah, they stretch out over your knuckles pretty fast, they're very loosely crocheted.

I use some pretty nice Fox half fingered gloves that are pretty comfortable. I wish I was wearing them yesterday when I crashed into my sister's rear wheel and ate pavement. I had to ride with my hand bloodying up everything for the rest of the night.

I've had good luck with full fingered 661 Nasty gloves as well.
