Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Any crappy chromoly frame with a straight body and fork. One set of cheapy machine built deep v's, a quality cog and lockring. Any stupid old 165 road crank...cheapy 110mm bottom bracket and go!

Weight will be fine and geometry won't beat you to death like a true track bike.

mercee-ay pista, windzer tt, bianchi kilo, iro 925, specialized swobester, or the 3rensho rush hour would all be awesome choices for a beginner fixXxie ridaher.
