.. are new NJS frames available anytime or you have to custom order to buy one.

Do Bridgestone, Panasonic and others have production runs you can buy at bike shops in Japan?

Yes, because a NJS stamp somehow magically increases the value of the bike? What?

Poster parkerlewis is working with the old Vivalo people to make new custom "street tracker" bikes. I think the new company is called Ocean and a basic frame is around $1000. He's been detailing it all in the Japan thread, I think.

Yes, it does

look at the price that some customs go for and then look at the price of the beat frame with dents up and down the top tube and an NjS stamp. It's about the same

Well, I kind of think that the stamp is secondary. It's the keirin bikes that people want, and they happened to be stamped. If you took the stamp off a sweet Panasonic or Bridgestone track frame but it still appeared to be cool and Japanese, I don't think it would affect the value at all.

if memory serves, bikes made for a non-keirin rider aren't stamped even if they come from a builder that does NJS frames. they're the same price.
