IRO Rob Roy Group Buy thread
anyone else get one?
Here's mine all extra parts laying around, except the headset. sprayed the fenders with rustoleum orange, 42x18 gear, bar/bad weather town cruiser, hope to get some v-brakes, BMX platforms and huge cruiser bars for her soon. still fun for now though! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/HPIM0051.jpg post yours! |
looks nice. i dig the orange on orange.
the saddle looks a bit out of place though, black would fit in nicer. but if you're riding the saddle color doesn't matter. |

i'm waiting for cranks and to get my headset pressed in, but then i'll be all ready.
|
yeah my lbs did the headset install/fork cut on the spot when I brought it in, for free, it was rad
|
I like how there are spoke cards in the wheels as if you raced in alleycats on that thing!! It looks like a 1980's bike :)
|
Waiting on rims for the build.
Nexus Dynohub front and silent clutch rear. Moustache bars XTR cantilevers and old campy levers Whatever saddle I have lying around and cyclocross cranks. It should be interesting. Considering the "stealth" nature of the bike, I know I should go with all black components, but I can't. Too boring for me. |
Here's my Orange 52cm with parts stolen from my Surly Steamroller.
Back wheel is a 8sp (130mm) for now, I need to re-space my 120mm Surly to 132mm. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2394/...e5948cf7f8.jpg More picture... http://www.flickr.com/photos/three-u...7604223157457/ |

Still waiting on mine. Will be fitted with tubus rack, backroller ortlieb panniers and a nexus hub.

those bikes need more deep-v rims and neon ourys
and stories about how you're pretty sure you're the only person on your campus who rides a fixie |

Mine's going to be thrashed around a CX course later this year hopefully.

Unfortunately, I think most of these bikes are going to wind up in the mud at CX races, or used as everyday townies like the one above.

out of curiosity, why are these being set up brakeless? wouldn't a frame without front/rear canti mounts be more appropriate for something like that?
this frame screams freewheel cross or ss touring setup, not brakless with nitto drops... |
Bike 2 appears to have both a canti brake and a freewheel, hell there's a whole cassette back there

Might put a rack or some fenders on one day for touring duty. My build will coast. |

Nice rides, don't like the tan saddle w/ orange, but as said it doesn't matter if you're riding on it.
Despite the cassette/borrowed parts, I really dig your look there chibi... I think it's the angle + bars *shrug* Those seat stays make me all gushy anyway so whatever... Still waiting to hear about my frame shipment... but it's gonna be anytime now :D Mine will be a commuter/everywhere city bike for now, fenders an' all. |
