Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

So wait, BlickBlocks is a "he" who self-identifies as a "she"? Did our constant torment force him to make this tough choice?

The second part was the only joke. I was asking in earnest. My apologies for confusing the pronouns.

I was away for a while, but I seem to remember Blickblocks having a picture of herself as an avatar for a while. I want to say there's even a pic with her wearing a helmet on here somewhere.

**Unless this is a new running gag, in which case, I was away for a while.**

If we were to invade... this would be an ideal place to start. https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycling/400880-looking-cheapo-fixed-gear.html

1. Our forum is so good that the n00bs are posting in the road forums.
2. Post #15 is already the first shot fired.
3. See post #24.
4. See my post #28. (I need backup)
5. See post #39 another n00b that we don't get to flame! (although... they were a lurker so perhaps they would have gotten respect. But now its in the road forum.

Anyways. They started it.

It was the same day that a bunch of them were calling me racist due to a canadia instead of canada comment. They brought up the fact that I made a comment about mexico not having mail.

Taken out of context I suppose that you MIGHT be able to call it racism. But Im not a racist. And I was mad at people. But I didn't want to push my luck. You know how roadies get. I mean damn. I ride on a team... I resemble roadie more than fixed. But I don't like their culture all that much? Im tired... I dont know if I said that the way I wanted to.

Y'know, if I were a roadie looking for decent advice about a fixed gear for training purposes, I'm not sure I'd look to this particular forum for any answers. Can't blame the guy, really.

I disagree. In my observation, most everyone who approaches this board with questions about real riding, instead of color matching tires and Deep V's, or asking simple questions without doing a modicum of research beforehand, is greeted warmly.
