Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

you can get good deals on tires for 27" rims off ebay. i got a pair of bontrager sport for $12. another AWESOME tire that i love, but is kinda expensive is the club roost cross terra, which is made in lots of sizes, including 27x1-3/8. heres a pic of it

im even thinking about getting a pair for my SS MTB in a 26x2.0

i just use a regular 27x1-1/4" tube. never got a flat with that setup. they are some great tires for the snow also!

Bikes: Classic lugged-steel road, touring, gravel

My fixie is also has 27" wheels.

I'm running Continental Super Sports (not Ultra) and they're holding up just fine.

I think Nashbar might still have those light gray 27" Vittorias available.
