I think you'll have better luck over at mtbr.

And I have to know... why?

Do they have clearance for 700c? If you would have asked a few weeks ago I could have thrown a setup together to snap a pic, but I just sold my 1x1 frame.

Skinnyish 700 and fattish 26" have remarkably similar outside diameters.

I'm thinking of bailing out on building up the Redline Conquest Disc-R frame I got forever ago even though I have basically all the parts (including Avid BB-7s). I just think it will be too small for me. Definitely want to do the disc thing.

I'm not a mountain biker, but if I wanted to mess around later 26" mountain wheels are pretty cheap these days. The 1x1 fits 26 x 2.7" tires, so I can't see clearance being an issue with, say 700x28. Handling might be funky though. I'm just not sure I need the bulk of a 29er frame for street riding, but I like 700c wheels.

that would be a sweet build, like a rigid bad boy ultra.

Search on MTBR for 1x1 29ers. With 29er tires (not even cross tires) people have fit them in the stock forks and rear triangle.

I have a Srly1x1 running 26x2.5 Spclzed Pinn'its. Considering the amount of room still, I'm not surprised by the 29X2.1 size fitting.

Surly's site says the 1x1 fits 26x2.7" just fine.

Monster 700 tires. On a lark I swapped my 700x42 wheel off the cross check and onto the 1x1. There was room for even more tire, could easily have gone to 2" or maybe a 2 1/4". The only thing your really doing is raising the bottom bracket height, so watch the boys on the top tube.

There are lots of pics on the MTBR forum

Man, I need to take a pic at the next community bike ride. Theres a guy who built himself a single speed frame and has 36 inch rims on it. It's insanely massive. He also has 2 disc brakes up front. It's like the Bigfoot of bikes.
