help

today my cog stripped about ten miles from my job and and 5 miles from house. so i walked back to my house and called my work where i was told i was fired from job as a dishwasher making minimal wage. if any one has got old real wheels, cogs, or lockrings let me know. ill buy em off you when i get money which may take awhile

If it is a flip/flop hub, just Rotafix a new cog on the free side..... At least then you are only out the cog price. Same thing happened to me, and to my surprise it has never slipped.

good idea, to bad this is not the case. i got the rim from a friend and its fairly old. dont know how this happend but everything is stripped. cog, lockring, and the hub. im fairly screwed.

you could probably thread a bmx freewheel on it, unless it's stripped to the point of smoothness. You really only need a few threads to make it thread on.

Maybe try Free Ride over in Point Breeze - they probably have something old and cruddy that will at least work for the time being, and you can volunteer it off if you are literally without funds. if you're willing to sell plasma, Kraynicks has a bunch of the formula / weinmann rear wheels in stock - they were $40 in the winter but the price has probably gone up a bit.
