U-Lock Hoster Designs/Guides?

Wondering if there are any guides out there for sewing my own U-Lock Holster. I was thinking of trying to make something like . Any guides/tips/ideas are much appreciated.

Thx

edit: I realize I spelled holster wrong in the title

That one costs 8 bucks.

Or 8 instant noodle cups. That's a week worth of food.

How much would the seatbelt cost from a junk yard? 2? That's 6 noodle cups in savings. Or a 6 dollar burger at carl's junior.

Also, you shouldn't really need a pattern if you've got a sewing machine that can handle that thick of material you could just copy that one. The stitching patter is pretty obvious from here.

don't you get a free one when you put on your jeans in the morning? i know my lock smells like my ass crack, but i see it as the first line of defense.

how do you use your belt? my belt usually is there to hold my pants up, not very easy to shove a u-lock in..

Hahahaha. Sweet. That's how I've always rocked it.

I considered one of the fabric horse ones though, I mean it's like a farking gun holster if you decide to rage you can just whip that ***** out instead of dickin around with it and swingin your pack outta the way.

Watchout.

Bikes: 2009 Surly Steamroller, 19?? Fuji ?, 19?? Univega Viva Sport, Marin/Xtracycle combo

what do you do with the holster when your bike is locked up? hope your shirt doesn't lift up exposing some ******** looking **** on your belt? i mean, if you're on your bike all day and need to lock up quickly, then it makes sense. but if you're just using it to go out, or ride to the bar, or whatever, it's just a ******** idea. use your bag, or pocket, or the bike frame.

I'd hate to think what the damage would be if you crashed with a massive piece of metal strapped to your hip. What a totally terrible idea.

obvious until you look at it and realize that you would be sewing through the portion that the belt has to go through.

I always like the idea of wearing things on my belt cause it makes me feel like a super hero, but in practice, it just pulls your fuggin pants down.

#1 keeps pipe ash from covering everything in your pocket.
#2 seems stupid until you're on a 15 foot ladder.
#3, well, that is stupid.

#1 - roll joints - being busted for paraphernalia is no good
#2 - get a real tool belt - i don't want to look like inspector gadget while doing home repair
#3 - beer in hand is much more user friendly

the jeans or shorts that i wear have four pockets - that leaves me two empty pockets to stuff my lock into.

if there's room for a wallet or phone in your front pocket your pants aren't tight enough

i used to shove my lock under my belt and it was a little uncomfortable. same with putting it in the back pocket. the fabric horse holster works way better than that. you don't even notice that it is there. i ordered mine from kingkog in NYC and it is definitely worth it. I have a specialized cell phone holder that goes right next to it so that there is nothing in my pockets bothering me.

It just seems excessive.

To me, it also screams "Yeah, I ride a bike." (in a bad way) wherever you go. Like the bar. I feel like a messenger bag (which I use) is bad enough for announcing suck pointless things.
