love my bike...

Ever have a particularly nice ride, especially a quick sub five mile one where you avoid a bunch of obstacles and accelerate through traffic and just feel really quick and nimble, then dismount and look at your bike and realize how insnely perfect it is and how well it fits you (and you it)?

i had one of those on my way to work today. as i rode the elevator to my office, i stared at it and realized that i really really really love the way i built my bike up. the months of riding my beater as i waited for a hard-to-find component on ebay, or spending weeks flip-flopping between bars, never wrapping them because they were a friend's (who was nice enough to let you check them out)...

i really love my bike.
a lot.
it's perfect.

this is all.

I know that feeling. That happens quite often as I pose at Starbucks.

Bicycle Love

when i ride to work, i usually lock my bike up and smoke a cigarette by the bike rack cause i know i won't get another one for a while. usually i just look at my bike and realize how awesome it is, and it gets me even more amped to get out of work so i can ride it again.

and since it's been nicer i find myself taking a five or six mile ride on the one mile journey from work to home.

I do this. (I know you're probably kidding.)

I live out in the suburbs and when I go hang out with all my buddies that moved a hop and skip away from anything interesting, I bring my bike on my rack. Sometimes two if we have osmoen that wants to come riding with us but doesn't have a bike. I wish I could just ride anywhere but since the trip out to the stomping grounds is in excess of 25 miles, it just wouldn't make sense.

That's a pretty epic typo. I think you need to slow down when you type!

My MTB spends most of its time in the back of my Jeep. You know, just in case I end up in the mood to pull some epic killer gnar gnar singletracking on my lunchbreak.

mihlbach, Yeah, I do. I'm not gonna pimp you, or plague you, either. I so understand where you're coming from. Enjoy your zen moments of love with all your heart. I do. Respects, man.

because CLEARLY he's far too l33t for typeing. He is probably out riding 100 miles so he can ACTUALLY enjoy his bike, because that is impossible on a ride any shorter.

They let you in the elevator with your bike? Lucky you. The *******s here force me to lock it in the garage. Fuggen greedy dickheads. At least it's free. Parking here is $6.50/hr!
