Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Chainline question

Hey all,
Well I just finished putting together my biek. I've got everything set up, and what I feel is a straight chain line. I am running a 1/8" drive train. 45/16. When I pedal the bike, I get a clicking sound on the cog, as if everything is not all good. Is this a key indicator to a non- straight chainline? What are your suggestions? and here is a pic of the drivetrain.

sorry for the fuzziness. need a new camera.

If I give the chain slack it still does it.

cameras/your eyes are sorta worthless when it comes to gauging chaneline.
get a ruler or (better yet) a caliper so you can see what's really going on.
