Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

you gotta plan ahead don.
Oh, the dreaded teen angst...I can hardly wait.

I have to admit my sense of time is really off these days, but didn't you post photos of that bike last fall DW?

DW, that is a fine piece of art. First thing that came to mind when I saw the down tube was my 20" Torker frame that I had in 1980, the frame with the split top tube.Your little one is tracking with class. Well done!

Nope, the bike made its debut at NAHBS. I might have had a teaser pic on my blog in the fall, but nothing with paint or anything.

wow, don do you plan to build her a successively larger frame as she grows every year?

seems a little silly to build such a nice bike / large investement for a child, but you know if i had brazing skills my [hypothetical] children would all be riding around on fillet brazed tricycles!

ah, like I said... my sense of time is really skewed, it was probably around the time of NAHBS?

the pics I saw had paint... clearly I'm just wrong about when it was.

heck, at this point I'm glad I know what month this is...
