Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? hahahaha. what a ******. enjoy being an elitist in SF, knowing that you never once had a conversion, or a TT protector, or had chainline questions. thanks for sharing. now go back to your coffee shop and pose some more and talk about "back in the day."

and i was just about to let the OP off the hook for making another one of these threads. sounds like he needs to re-read and meditate on his user title.

yes, that high horse.

I wasn't offended, people can like whatever they want, or not like whatever they want, and ride their bikes or not ride their bikes...

by characterizing the OP's view of MASH and that which followed it as elitist claptrap, aren't you being just a tad elitist yourself?

Probably, I mean, had the OP said "I dont like mash" I would have said "fair enough." His criticizing people who like it and all that lead me to bring the high horse argument out. I dont think it was me being elitist, just calling the situation like I see it, but you can claim I'm being elitist if you would like, I can see that side of the argument.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "you're an elitist" or anything like that... I just found it amusing that a response calling out the OP for being elitist came across as somewhat elitist itself...

And yes, an emoticon would've made my comment come across differently, screw emoticons!!!

PS: I was trying to find a way to make an elitist comment about emoticons, but I flubbed it.

what does riding a conversion have to do with addressing blatant hypocrisy?
i see no rebuttal, just namecalling.

and GOD FORBID someone ask biking questions on a bike forum.

yeah, not that I signed on to be in the OP's camp, but that post severely detracted from any defensible argument.

wait a second, is the OP suggesting that there is more to fixed gear riding than fashion? BLASPHEMY!!! Seriously, it hasn't been low key for years. ESPECIALLY in San Francisco.

Flyover states are anything between New York and San Francisco. New York and San Francisco are the only states worth living in. The rest of America is just a bunch of backwater dumbass incestual idiots and stuff. Vote Hillary.

I haven't seen mash or bootleg sessions in full, but from the trailers, website, etc I would say that mash seems to do a good job of documenting. I did not enjoy watching bootleg session clips. mash seemed to bring a lot of riders together in each city it was screened in, plus there are some pretty cool photos on their web page, including the workers at DQM riding in NY. Plus the packaging of the dvd as well as the book included seem very well done.

So I don't know, I usually seem to hate a lot of stuff but I ordered mash yesterday.
