My beloved Peugeot is Bridgette (after Bardot) and my old Bianchi was Sophia (after Loren)... my daughter named my hard tail Jenny when she was all of 7 years old and that name has stuck.
My folders had name tags..they were old Shell Oil bikes and at the plant they identify bikes by names rather than serial numbers as it is much easier to keep track of one's fleet that way, especially when all the bikes were identical gold coloured Phillip's folders. |
I call my Ross "Rick"

I worked for a bicycle tour company in Europe last summer and fall. Every single one in the 140 bike fleet had a nametag. From "Flaming Heap of Twisted Metal" to "Daisy" to "Gob Bluth Jr" lots of random names. Like 65er said, easier to keep track of.

my gf named my roadie Scarlet because she' black/red and an attention *****.
She suggested Serenity for my new bike, we'll see how that turn out. |
Tour guiding in Europe was probably the best 6 months of my life. We had the whole fam in there including Dr. Tobias Funke, Annyong, Kitty (people thought it was cat related), Stan Sitwell (cushy seat?), and the best of them all, Bob Loblaw. We thought about White Power Bill, but that wasn't PC.

dang, that sounds like such a good jam, how'd you get the job? |

"her?" |
I had a Ms. Maeby in 2nd grade. I got the job just by applying online, then two phone interviews, then interview in person. I heard about it from a few friends who did it the summer before, and they'd had older siblings do it before that, etc. Word of mouth. Supposed to just be a summer job before my last semester of school but summer turned into fall, and here I am a 24 yr old still in college.

Paris. There are some promotional videos up on youtube if you want to see what riding past the Eiffel Tower on a beach cruiser looks like. I'm the guy at 1:12 in the first video if you search "Bike Tour Paris". I have to say that the French know how to do bike lanes. They're EVERYWHERE and where they ain't there are wide sidewalks if you're scared of traffic and all the big streets have an entire lane dedicated to buses and bikes.
