I'm down with it... as long as it's as gizzay as possible, like Beatrice or Harold...

I'm starting to disagree with myself here... maybe it is just dumb.

there was a time all my bikes had names of girls i'd dated who were ****in' crazy. sadly i had 5 bikes and extra names.

anyway, i never referred to them by their names and neither did anyone else, it was always "the fuji" or "the (rock) lobster" etc. the closest it got to using their 'real' names was that i referred to them collectively as my b!tches.

giving them "people" names is lame and embarassing. but names like "the crowbar" or "ditchfork" seem alright. you know, something fun. i don't do it, though.

If I were to name my primary bike... it would probably be "Lefty" but I'm not really in favor of naming bicycles.

I once had a car named Fudd... which was odd because it had a Porky Pig sticker on the back.

My girlfriend named my bike "Steely Dan: The Bike" when she heard it was a steel frame, but I've never really thought of my bike as being named. Meh. If folks get enjoyment from naming their bikes, good for them. One more reason to ride, eh?

this always seemed weird to me, and a little sexist. it's just a bike.

my cats, however, have fantastic names

I admit it's a little weird...my first named bike was Visitor, when I was a messenger and got a plain visitor sticker from a loading dock. But I liked the Roswell implications. The next one is Whiplash since when my wife took it for her first fixie spin she crashed hard. The Mark V I'm getting next week? Well, it's already named Mark so I dunno...

My roadie is a Specialized Allez Epic. I feel "ghey"/french as hell when I say that. It needs a name.*

* It doesn't have one. I'm taking suggestions. Something a-holey is preferable.

Bikes: bfssfg iro--black.

i call my bike "the mark five" because it's an iro mark v, and mark five sounds way more metal.
like i've explained before it makes me think of tanks and all kinds of grim schit.

To be fair I never really name anything, and even if it has a name I usually still don't use it. My cat is "Cat" and my bike is "Bike".

I've got a Japanese built Paramount Series-5 and I call it Japanamount! There's some Waterford-built Paramount owners that get a bit testy about the whole "real Paramount" vs Series Paramounts argument, so Japanamount! is a name and a disclaimer all in one: Yes it says Paramount. Yes it's from Japan. No, I don't care what you think about that.
