Anyone from the Phoenix/Scottsdale area?

I'm in the process of figuring out what I want to buy/build and was just wondering if there was anyone from this forum in my area that I might run into...

I'm from Phoenix, but I go to school out in California right now. What area are you from exactly?

Bikes: '05 pista, early 90's cannondale track (project bike)

I stayed in Scottsdale this year for like 4 days over spring break. My least favorite vacation ever, I did not care for that city!

That is because the valley has no soul.

It has plenty of souls...My soul and many other souls trapped here in the valley of the sun.

A Scottsdale/Tempe group? I'll have to see if I can find them.

Residing in Tempe at the moment. There is some stuff that goes on down here/people that ride. Also the Bike Saviours co-op is down here too if you need some advice on assembling your whip.

I'm in Tempe too. Lately I've been seeing lots of brakeless conversions running huge gears without clips/straps, don't build one of those.

It's definitely getting bigger here, there's been a couple alleycats recently.

One of my favorite rides is along the greenbelt in southern Scottsdale, you should check it out.

Totally forgot to say, I'm from the 32nd st. and Cactus area. I used to live out by the new stadium, though. I would drive to school every morning and be able to see its stages as it went up. Pretty cool.

hey great! thanks for the info guys. I'll have to check out the bike co-op and see if I can't hook up with a few people to go on the occasional ride with.

Wow those Alleycat races look wild! I'll have to learn what I'm doing before I participate!

You'll probably see me there. I'm an assistant mechanic some Sundays.

What the hell? I haven't heard of any of these alleycats lately. The last one I heard of or went to was the MASH ride back in January.

I need to get back in the loop. Unfortunately I won't be at the KILL MILL race, which is going to be a blast. The last one was effing intense. My friend Nate won the last one. Here's a hint: brakes make you go faster.

Oh, bummer. I missed you. I showed up around 5 or so.

If you see me around town, I'm usually rocking the gray and pink Shwinn conversion. Don't be shy.

tbag- friday nights... bike polo at creamery park- by the way is the brakeless thing for the kill mill a response to the fact that a guy from Waste management cycling team won a recent alleycat on a specialized roubaix?

No, I think it was because that guy Nathan who rides the Fetish won the last one with a brake, and a lot of people complained.
