Noisy chainring

Perhaps an odd post but anyone else having a problem with the noise of running an 1/8" rear cog and chain in conjunction with a 3/32 chinring? Worst when applying backpressure to slow. Would assume it all in the size considering that my other fix is running 1/8 all around and as Fixer describes his bike, "it runs morbidly quiet".

Any good sources for 1/8 rings for shimano cranks?

Thanks,
Dave

what's the bcd on your cranks? if you're running 130mm road cranks, you'd probably be better off matching the cog and chain to the chainwheel than the other way around... i don't think i've ever seen 1/8" chainwheels in 130mm bcd...

jitensha, TA makes chainrings 130mm bcd 1/8" to fit their Alize track cranks.

i stand corrected, then... and on further research, bike works has 'em in stock for $46... granted, you could get a new cog & chain for that, but hey...
