i don't think they make bikes that those cinelli halters don't look horribly out of place on. like all the mixing of carbon and lugs i'm seeing in this thread.

I'm pretty sure that money is what it costs to polish the stem. Stainless Sachs lugs, just as an example, are only $7 more than the standard flavor. http://www.richardsachs.com/rsachstoys.html

This gives you some idea of what goes into polished stainless: http://www.salientia.ca/dave/?page_id=9

The beef's bike should be hideously ugly.
I hate the mixing of oldschool frames and modern low spoke count wheels, hate the alter and solid chainrings too... and it just works on that rig.

bexley 05-04-08 11:20 AM

Yep. I agree.

Check out those tight clearances too. Nice.

bexley 05-04-08 11:22 AM

And, damn, that's some sexy cableage on the Ciocc. I didn't notice it at first since everything is amazing about those bikes.

I was thinking this too. I have my really nice modern roadie and my beater steel lugged fix. I put my nice wheels and such on it to see how it looked and it just looked wrong.

But I really like that bike. I don't care for the bottle cage... maybe something more subtle. And I would say the dark blue paint on the head tube is what really makes it. Nice work.

Just my point zero two.

Robbykills 05-04-08 12:51 PM

UGH!

edit: on the last two

bexley 05-04-08 01:22 PM
