Why don't you just tape it on your bike? That would be equally cool.

I'd suggest getting a new bike to run spoke cards in.

I was really dreading opening up this thread. I read the thread about the guys fancy new conversion, asked a question about how not to be fat, and even laughed a little at the Pista thread. I refreshed the forum 5 or 6 times hoping someone, somewhere, would post something interesting, or maybe this thread would just dissappear. Since neither of these have happened, I will now subject you to my .02.

If you laced your wheel 2x, you probabaly did so to be different, so why f*ck your fancy new wheel's looks with a bunch of spoke cards. Nobody cares what races you've done, or who you are voting for. They look worse than fancy ******** top tube protectors, with none of the functionality. (yes I have one, it's covering the only un-abused piece of metal on my frame, and I know it looks like ****). F*CK

Aww, poor guy.

I've seen friends use a hole puncher and zip ties. They partially had the same thing going on, but also some people were getting their 1st, 2nd, 3rd place cards stolen. What kind of effing idiot steals a winner spoke card? I mean really...

You don't have to be a messenger to have cards. That said, the only ones I have are alleycat races I have rode in/won. I think the obama cards, and the other pseudo-advertisement cards are ********. I do like the dumb comments kitted up roadies/triatheletes give me when I'm out for a road ride.

There we go....now I feel better. How do you like the ellipses? I just got a ksyrium up front. Seems like a really nice wheel.

The ellipse rear wheel comes with a 2x pattern from the factory. FYI

i like them. i check them on the stand once every two weeks or so, they're still very true (round and laterally). they feel strong laterally-- though i'm not the heaviest rider, so i don't expect to feel flex when accelerating into a turn, but i figured i'd add that. i've heard from heavier riders that they're quite stiff; no reason do doubt it.
they do nicely in acceleration, and seem to have low rotational resistance* when compared to other wheels (32 spoke deep v to formulas in particular, which i spent some time with on that build).
something in my mind feels like they accelerate quickly initially, but have enough inertia on the rim to assist with maintaining good paces for longer distances. i feel this moreso than other wheels i've ridden, but it could also be that i'm becoming a stronger rider over time.

*i say resistance because i don't think they're light enough when compared to most street wheels for rotational weight to be a factor; i'm assuming this comes from lower spokes/bladed spokes/possibly smoother hubs (but even that's probably a stretch).

Spoke cards are so last week.

All the cool kids are taking playing cards, clothespinning them so they hit the spokes when the rear wheel moves and make motorcycle sounds!

edit: I'm way too slow. for some reason my browser only loaded the first couple replies, haha.
