Moustache handlebars, stem length question

I changed out my regular bars for a set of moustache bars on my singlespeed. The only problem is the bars are about 2 inches too far forward. I'm wondering, has anyone else switched to an extremely short stem when switching to moustache bars? I'm looking for a 30mm stem that fits 26.0 diatmeter bars. Anyone know of a stem that would work?

If it's a quil stem Nitto Technomics work well with moustache bars. I had my bars set up with their 60mm stem.

Thanks but this is a modern 1 1/8" stem.

Mine is set up with a 90 degree 70mm stem. Slight rise and fairly short.

pathdoc, I'm curious why you'd want to have a shorter stem. moustache bars usually place the hands behind the stem as it is.

These bars have a very long forward bend to them and place the brake levers at least 2 inches further forward than my old bars. I can't remember the name of these bars but I'll look at them tonight once I get home.
I'd be happy if I could find a 30mm stem.

not if you're going to be riding high up on the curves.

Ive ridden those before, and i dont see how anyone can find them comfortable, good for going fast, or anything but tacky looking

They're not too comfortable over long distances. But they're great for climbing.
You need to really set these bars up right to feel comfortable.

I used to run this set up on my Steamroller a while back:

mine's not a moustache bar per se, but it's close. i have to use a super long stem with this design to get a reach that is consistent with traditional drop bars. right now, even with a 12cm stem, my reach is 5cm shorter than with bullhorns or drop bars. I am thinking of getting a 14cm stem...

Thomson makes a 50mm. Shorter than that and you need to find a BMX or downhill stem.

Thanks for your answers. My brakes may be in the wrong place on the bar. My brakes are at the point furthest forward making the reach uncomfortable.
