Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

folding fixed

hey so i spent some time looking into a folding fixed gear at one point but then decided not to undertake the project. i was on crags list today and some one is selling a folding Raleigh from the 70's. Sheldon brown has one of these converted to a fixed gear on his web site....if any one is new york is interested in undertaking project this might be a good start... let me know how it works out:

i can't quite get into the folding scene, i sorta lump them in with recumbents, which probably isn't fair.

Bikes: Old-ass gearie hardtail MTB, fix-converted Centurion LeMans commuter, SS hardtail monster MTB

Looks like fun, but pedal strike would be a *****, man.
