Ghetto clippers...

Is it dumb to try to ghetto out a pair of platforms with some cheap straps? I just wanna see if it can be done because pedals seem to be very spendy, at least the ones I can find.

Get some MKS GR-9s with some MKS toe clips and straps and it shouldn't set you back more than about $50 and they'll last you long enough.

Toe clips, just the plastic clips, road or atb run about $10. As long as you have box-shaped platform pedals (some now are parallelograms) you'll be fine to outfit them. Personally, I'd do that and then put what I would spend on track toe-clips toward a clipless system.

I'm going to find a way to give you a dollar for saying "parallelograms"
