Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

winter basement madness

Attached you will find one Bianchi road frame converted to fixed gear. It is set up on a Cateye cyclosimulator for riding in the basement on those days in the middle of the Ohio winter when it is snowing and freezing and icy on the street, like right now. The components are not important, just whatever I had left over from various experiments gone wrong. You can vary the resistance with a lever on the display pod at the front of the bike. The pink bulb horn on the bars is for "honkin" up the grade increase. The experience, priceless. Even with the butt-ugly unicrown Bianchi forks. At least it's in the basement where nobody can see it.
