Proof, conversions do make money
I did it, sold one of my bikes. Sure will miss it.
|
Wow, good job man.
|
And proof that if you get a bike for free, it's really easy to sell for a large profit!
|
it was crazy that it went for so high.
|
Although you didn't "do anything" technically, I would feel bad for the buyer.

yeah dude I'm not going to be polite about it... that was a huge dick move describing the bike like that. you don't even know if the flipchops are njs? and are you sure that was really japanese made? doubt it. and nothing can be "better than Mint (sic)," it's either mint or in a worse condition.
all in all it's a generic bike boom conversion with slightly nicer lugwork and some possibly-decent, esoteric cranks. in the general sense (not pointed at you): if you have any sense of morality, relist that with a less misleading description with more hard facts and less embellishment. the ruthless capitalist in you would never think of morals, though. |
not real deep vs on the bike. and you're not even including the carbon seatpost?
|
someone definitely didn't know what they were buying.
|
You guys don't know what you're talking about.

be like mookie: do the right thing and give him his money back |
Wait until he posts here.
|
dude will want a refund anyway once his box of BS comes
|
i feel sorry for your grandpa.
|
He liked the bike, he bid, simple as that.
|
I'm not sure how rare that frame is, but that looks like a bad deal for him.
How hard is it to go buy a metric tape measure from a dollar store or x-mart? |
ouch.. it was gonna cost $500 to ship to canada?

Yeah, I mentioned this in the eBay thread already. You lied about pretty much everything and suckered some newb. Your grand-pap would be proud, I am sure. Oh well, I believe in karma ;)
LOL, I just noticed your description of the pedals: "The pedals are MKS track pedals with MKS stainless cages and leather straps". Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. |
I'm going to sound stupid asking, but wha da hell: what does njs mean, i see this everywhere?
I'm not the buyer, by the way. |
just for the record, bdfresh, although the buyer is ultimately at fault for spending too much, you are a total scumbag for your inaccurate and deceptive listing and a ****ing ******bag for coming here to brag about it.
|
Welp, it is a public forum....and anyone with an eBay account can message another eBay member....
And yeah, the guy is a douch3-bag; he received a lot of help here before he built up his awesome NJS-Keirin-grandpappy machine and he goes out and burns a newb. This is why we can't have nice things. |
but ultimately, isn't it the bidding that drove the price that high, or is it the misleading qualities of the description? I mean, the bike isn't a ****pile, it's just not an AWESOME frame.definitely not worth 600.
I should mention that I have a 1972 nishiki (used to be called American Eagle, unbelievably enough). Got a complete build for 500 (mavic wheels which are worth more than the bike upped the price). But nishiki can be had for pretty cheap. The bidder should've seen this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...%3D4%26ps%3D42 |
Uh, the bidding was intense because of the description.....which was a lie.
No, it isn't a ****pile but it isn't NJS or Keirin and it doesn't have MKS track pedals or Velocity Deep-Vs on it, it is a misrepresentation of the product and that is not how eBay works. If you bought any other product and it turned out that the seller had lied about it, would you not want your money back? If your answer is no, I have a Keirin, NJS track bike in my backyard with Deep-Vs and MKS track pedals on it that you can buy from me.... |
Thanks guys. OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH. I agree this IS why we can't have nice things

I never said it had VELOCITY deep vs, just said it have deep vs. How do you know what brand they are anyways? And yest hte pedals are MKS, sorry you lose. :punch that dumbass in the face through computer: |
boo on you. You are an ebay scammer, pretty low in the ranks of internet users. You inaccurately described your bike and took advantage of someone's lack of knowledge. What kind of society do we live in, f**k it, on a smaller level, what kind of community is the biking community (not bike culture, that's dumb) if the majority of folks out there are snakes hoping to prey on the less knowing? Poor show. You are a sh*tty human being that probably plans ways to profit from your grandparents death.
Beyond that you seem to have over looked some of the ebay listing policies ...
