Congratulations on the new bike...
The Bareknuckle has a ton of character... For what it's worth, I think the Bareknuckle looks best with a steel stem...True North might be able to custom build you one and colour match it to your frame...At a price, of course... I'll be riding though Guelph on my way to a party in rockwood...Look out for a long haired guy with tattoos down his right leg carrying a brutally beat up and dirty black messenger bag riding a Sputnik at around 7-8pm... |
Lol. Still working out getting the frame. The lbs is ****ing me around. By that time I should hopefully be in PA, USA for a hacky sack competition.

If you can't spend your money on all nice parts then just focus on the drive train. cranks- sugino or campy 165s. BB- phil wood or sugino. cog- DA or Phil. The rest (seat post, handlebar, ect) I don't think are initially as important. check craigslist or ebay for deals and such.
Anway, I will say thing though: I waited 6 months for my BK and it was worth it: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3060/...aaa43cbf22.jpg |
Bump this 'ish, I just got a BK from a seller off CL a bit ago, and it's a blast. It has some old Campy victory cranks on it with a peculiar BCD (106 I believe). It now has a 42t chainring, and there are only 42t,52t,and 53t rings made for this particular crank. I wanna ride a 46/17, so I'm looking for a somewhat cheap solution. I've been looking at the either the andel cranks or some sugino RD's, but I dunno if I should hold out and get some nicer cranks. Also, I don't know what kinda of BB is ideal for the BK. Any help is appreciated!

Hi old thread :p
Re cranks: I am glad I got my omniums. You can actually see the knuckle I finally built up in my sig below. |
Nice! How's your chainline? Did you manage to get it pretty close?

I haven't measured but to the eye it looks perfect.
