Climbing hills?

Anyone do any climbing? I love seeing roadies taking super tight turns while coasting and going down a hill.. and I wish I could do that myself. I could do the same but I'd be spinning super fast and I'd be reluctant to make a such a tight turn cause all I could think about is pedal strike.

Do any of you guys go on hillier rides? Going single speed sounds like a really good solution to this.. but I was just curious. Do any of you guys go on long distance rides with hills and what not on a SS? Is it that much tougher than having a geared bike?

I take my SS on the longer mountain rides.......although the geared bike is easier on these types of rides as I feel more refreshed at the top due to the much lower gear and higher cadence.

I ride my fg, ss, and geared cross bikes on climbs.
