suggestions for new guy in fixed world.

any suggestions for a new guy to the fixed/ss world? a shop near me has a kona paddy wagon on sale for $499. is this any good. the other thing i was considering was a giant bowery which seems to have mixed reviews on here. i cant really afford a pista or other high caliber bike so any other suggestions would be great. thanks

Bikes: yes

the kona paddy wagon is an excellent, versatile fix/ss, and that's a very good price. i'd jump on it if i were you.

a friend of mine uses his for long commutes, centuries, track racing, and everything else in between.
