Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Help! What is This?

I'm about to by a road bike to be converted to a fixie, this bike is going for a good price from someone i've purcahsed from before. After inquiring upon more information about the bike all that was discovered was that it had 18-speeds, japanese rims and ran 700c x 25 road wheels. I was wondering if someone could identify the frame and help me learn something about it before I repaint and convert it. Medium sized images are shown below and the original large blown up pictures are linked under them.

Thanks so much ahead of time,

Mike

it's not that hideous, the seat is just shot and the bars need some serious readjustment. i have no idea what kind of frame it is though, but it really doesn't matter.

It looks fine for $50, who cares what make it is as long as it has 700c wheels and horizontal drops?

oh, thats a pos xtreme 4000. i have one of those.

jk. if the frame is in good shape and it fits u, its hard to go wrong for $25. worst case is you lose $25 and learn more bike. best case is you turn that into something decent on the cheap and learn more bike.
