That's so true. In the city, I remember people are always upset with drivers from Jersey for some reason.
... This is really odd discussion for me because upstate where I was working, to be uncool you only have to start using Canadian quarters. Anyone had the experience when your last quarter is Canadian and can't buy the coke or ... "dinner".
So uncool bike for me would be any bikes with surface covered with Canadian quarters. ...

A ******bag can come in any style of clothing. The main thing that makes a ******bag is the combination of inauthenticity and condescension. (Authenticity doesn't necessarily have anything to do with how long you've been doing something, either.)
If you are driven by the love of what you do, that love will come through and you'll be cool in a way that no fashion slave can touch. If you're not, no accessory will set you apart in the way you want it to.

That is true, but I want to make friends... I want to meet the people that were doing this when it wasn't cool. I want to meet the people that did it because it made sense, not fashion sense. Maybe if I just ride around smiling people will take note and remember "Hey! That guy isn't an *******... he is legit."
Far as street cred is concerned .. well, I was sleeping with a bike messenger that had a fixed gear back in 2002. ???? But back then I wasn't into bicycles cause I was too busy with crotch rockets.

since when is PBR a fad drink? It's a cheap beer. I prefer the now Belgian Budweiser tallboy though.

I've had it before, because it was cheap, however (I feel) its a fad beer here to fit in with the urban socialites of big cities. I'm sick of the local vegan/PBR/save the world types who have no backbone or reasons for living such a life other than seeing celebs or being the hip thing to do.
PS - I've already been stereotyped as drinking PBR because I ride a fixed gear.

Not hating. And if you've hung around them before as you say you have, you would know that their look some what resembles that of those pictured. However, to MASH's credit, I'm sure the person who styled the photo took some style ques from MASH. As I'm sure everyone on here would agree that they dress cool. Lastly, I've seen MASH bikes and they're way nicer than the props in the photo.

as far as MASH's style being "cool," that's a very subjective statement to make. Some feel dressing like a metrosexual is cool, while others think dressing casually is cool, who is cooler?

You're attempt at a PBR joke was a fail. It's a cheap beer, and PBR works with party promoters to have their drinks in bars and parties. Bars also have deals with a well shot and a cheap can of beer for $5, if PBR happens to be the cheap beer they carry, that's what's going to be gulped down. Same goes for Yuengling, Black Label, Heineken, Dos Equis, and every other company that wants their brand to gain familiarity and recognition at a bar.

jesus christ, true. who gives a **** what beer you drink.. are you going to dive into that now?
It sucks that I have to have that little thought in the back of my head about people judging me on my beer choice, my drivetrain on my bike, the fit of my jeans.
P.S. John Prolly, how much does PBR go for in NYC? I heard I could make a killing by buying it in WI and selling it to NY kids

while it was a rhetorical question, i'll add that at the grocery store near my apartment, PBR is $6.99 + deposit, and tax for a 12-pack
