Blaah help

So I've only got so much time, and limited access to a computer. I need a new bike ASAP and unlike my boyfriend who just bought a beautiful old vivalo and built it up with all njs parts...I've only got like a $500 spending limit >_>. I've browsed and browsed and it seems my options are severely limited.
I don't know what to do..and as always, I've come to you fine people for advice. I'm hoping there may be an awesome bike out there in my price range that I just haven't come across yet that someone could inform me of...? Hah, but if not I would still really appreciate to hear what you think about the one's I've probably already seen.
So now what bike [with somewhere between a 48 and a 50cm frame option] do you think is the best for your buck? HELP.

Man, I saw this coming haha. The Kilo definitely does seem like my best option so far but my roommate has the same bike. Yeah, maybe it's a childish reason for it to be at the bottom of my list, but c'mon! I'd feel so ridiculous riding anywhere with him if we were on the exact same bike :/

lol prostitution.

aaaanyway. there are other bikesdirect bikes. keep in mind it's the end of the year for bike models so you can get discounts on 08s soon. with a little more than $500 you can get a pista or a sanchez. also keep looking for a steamroller on craigslist, one might go used for right around 5 benjamis.

This is normally true
However, this year bikes are going up 20 to 25 %
and since 2009 bikes will be so high; there will be little if any discounts on 2008

In fact, I have heard of disdtributors and LBS already increasing prices on 2008 as costs on the last of those have been higher [especially for distributors]

Or a New Kilo TT Pro - which will be nicer than a streamroller and $500 new in box - BUT will not be in until end of September
